From September 3-7 2007 The University of Western Sydney hosted a visit by senior Muhammdiyah personnel from the National Health Committee. National Chairperson Dr Sudibyo Markus delivered a keynote address at the inaugural UWS Muslim Students in Australian Universities Conference and later joined in discussions with the Nursing and Medical Schools and UWS College. UWS will become one of the National Centres of Excellence in Islamic Studies with support from the Commonwealth Department of Education and Training.
